Mystery Stamping #39: Eeyore Fun Fold Card + Reverse Stamping
Mystery Stamping #39: An Eeyore Fun Fold Card
Mystery Stamping #39 brought back an oldie-but-goodie card fold—and this time Eeyore finally got his turn!
I pulled out the Stampin’ Up!® Silly Old Bear Suite for this card. I had used many of the other images from the collection before, but somehow Eeyore had never made it onto one of my projects. It was definitely time to fix that.
A Fun Fold You Can Turn Either Direction
One of my favorite things about this Mystery Stamping design is that it works either portrait or landscape.
The card base is accordion folded, with two larger decorated panels that create the front and center of the card. Depending on the Designer Series Paper, stamps or focal image you choose, you can simply turn the design and use whichever orientation works best.
That makes this a really handy fun fold to save and use again with completely different products.
As always with Mystery Stamping, I shared the measurements as our clue rather than giving away the finished card before we started.
When Eeyore Was Facing the Wrong Way…
Of course, crafting live sometimes means changing the plan!
Once I started designing my focal piece, I realized Eeyore was looking away from the rest of the card. I usually prefer an image like this to face INTO the design.
The solution was reverse stamping.
Using a silicone mat and my stamp positioner, I stamped Eeyore onto the silicone mat and transferred the image onto Very Vanilla cardstock. Stamping the image more than once onto the mat helped create a darker, clearer transferred image.
And suddenly Eeyore was looking exactly where I wanted him to look.
Because reversing the stamped image also reverses the shape, the coordinating Eeyore die no longer matched. Instead, I used a decorative label die around him—which turned out to work beautifully with the card.
Sometimes Plan B really is better!
The Finished Card
I used the Silly Old Bear Designer Series Paper along with Eeyore and sentiments from the coordinating products. The repeated characters in the patterned paper make the accordion panels especially fun as the card opens.
And I love the sentiment combination:
“I will love you”
“until forever.”
“And even after that.”
Then there’s another sweet sentiment waiting on the final panel when the card is completely opened.

You can watch the complete Mystery Stamping session to see how the fold comes together, how I line up the patterned-paper panels, and exactly how I created the reverse-stamped Eeyore.
