This week’s class took on a life of its own in the best possible way 😊
I originally thought I was starting with one simpler card and then moving into a couple that were a little more detailed. But by the time I finished designing, all three cards turned into fun folds! So if you enjoy scenic cards, interactive designs, and creative ways to use your supplies, this was a really fun class.
We used the Relaxing Waterside Bundle and coordinating Waterside Retreat suite products to create three scenic cards with peaceful outdoor details like docks, birds, fish, cattails, and weathered chairs.
This class included:
- Card 1 – Easel Card
- Card 2 – Faux Step Card
- Card 3 – Shadowbox Card
What I loved about this class is that each card used the same overall waterside theme, but each one felt different.
Card 1 – Easel Card
The first card became an easel card with a relaxing dock scene and a chair placed right on the edge of the water. It’s the kind of card that looks special on display, but still comes together in a very manageable way once you see how the fold works.
Card 2 – Faux Step Card
The second card used a faux step style and included fun little details like fish, birds, a dock, and a weathered chair. This one has a lot of personality and would be wonderful for birthdays, retirement, or anyone who enjoys the outdoors and scenic cards.
Card 3 – Shadowbox Card
The final card was a shadowbox card with a layered scenic look that really makes the design pop. With the birds, cattails, and peaceful setting, it feels like a little waterside scene tucked into a handmade card.

Favorite Details from This Class
One of my favorite parts of this class was adding all the little touches that make these cards feel extra special:
- creating a weathered chair effect
- adding cattails and grasses for texture
- tucking fish into the water scene
- layering birds and scenic paper for depth
- turning simple card parts into something a little more interactive
Even though these cards look detailed, they are not hard cards — just a little more time-consuming. And sometimes that’s part of the fun.
If you missed the live class, be sure to catch the replay and craft along at your own pace.
I also shared a few updates during class about:
- Stamping Cross Country, our online virtual retreat with 5 presenters
- the current Starter Kit special

Hey dear. I love all your cards.

Thank you so much for reaching out and for your interest in the Relaxing Waterside projects! I’m so glad you enjoyed them. 😊
DeleteAt this time, I’m only offering those projects as part of the video class/tutorial format and do not currently have separate written tutorials available to send out individually.
The good news is that the full class video walks step-by-step through creating the Easel Card, Faux Step Card, and Shadow Box Card, so you can craft right along with me at your own pace. The video link for that is here: Relaxing Waterside Class
