3 Fall Cards with Glow of Harvest | August Product of the Month

There’s something about fall crafting that makes me want to pull out all the warm colors, leaves and pumpkins — and Glow of Harvest Designer Series Paper gave me plenty to work with!

Glow of Harvest is Stampin’ Up!’s August Product of the Month. It has beautiful autumn designs with a silvery shimmer running through the paper that is hard to fully capture in photos.

During August, you can add the Glow of Harvest Designer Series Paper to a qualifying $75 order for just $5, while supplies last.

And with Double Rewards happening this week, I wouldn’t wait too long if this paper is already on your wish list.

Three Cards — Three Different Looks

I decided to make the paper the common thread through all three projects and then mix in several different products and techniques.

The result was one of those classes where we did a little bit of everything!

Painted Pumpkins

For the first card, I played with the upcoming Painted Pumpkins Bundle.

One of the things I especially enjoyed was experimenting with the layering stencils. I tried the pumpkins both with stamped outlines and with just the stenciled color.

I ended up loving those soft, stenciled pumpkins against the Glow of Harvest paper.

Painted Pumpkins will be available to everyone beginning September 1. Stampin’ Up! demonstrators are able to order it now.

Simply Leaves

The second card uses the Simply Leaves Bundle, which is available now.

I added some embossed texture to the cardstock, stamped leaves in colors pulled from the Designer Series Paper, and let that gorgeous Glow of Harvest pattern fill most of the background.

Sometimes you really don't need to compete with pretty paper!

Hot Foil & Designer Series Paper

The third card turned into a bit of an experiment.

I played with the upcoming Lustrous Leaves and Framed & Fabulous products and even used the reverse hot foil plate to make another image from the foil left after the first pass.

I love getting to use that beautiful foil twice!

Lustrous Leaves and Framed & Fabulous will also be available beginning September 1.

Watch the Full Glow of Harvest Class

In the video, you can see the projects come together from beginning to end, including the Painted Pumpkins stencil demonstration and the entire hot foil experience.

Why People Keep Coming Back

One of my favorite parts of Stamping Cross Country is hearing what participants say afterward. Over the years, they’ve told us they love the variety of teaching styles, the convenience of being able to watch later, the new techniques and ideas, and the chance to connect with other paper crafters.

One past participant described it as a “low key/fun-filled event filled with inspiration at a great price,” while another said it was “a wonderful week of learning, socializing and creating.”
That pretty much sums up what we hope Stamping Cross Country feels like.

Scarecrow Fun Fold Card — Mystery Stamping #44

Sometimes digging through the archives pays off!

I recently went through my Mystery Stamping videos to see which card recipes I’ve used, which ones I’ve repeated, and which ones have been quietly sitting there waiting for another turn. Mystery Stamping #44 was one of those forgotten favorites.

As soon as I looked at the layout again, I remembered why I liked it. It’s a fun fold that looks a little complicated but is actually very easy to assemble—and there is plenty of room to make it completely your own.

For this version, I went full fall! 🍂

I used the adorable scarecrow from the Fun for Fall Bundle and created a little harvest scene around him with corn stalks, a fence and hay bales. The warm colors and fall Designer Series Paper were just begging for a scarecrow!

Want to try it yourself?  Here's the clue!

Watch Mystery Stamping #44

The best part of Mystery Stamping is seeing the card come together clue by clue—and seeing how different everyone’s finished project looks.

If you make Mystery Stamping #44, I’d love to see what you create!

And if you’d like to join us live, Mystery Stamping is usually Tuesday evenings at 7 PM Mountain Time.

Happy stamping!

Cutest Crew Mystery Craft Box Tutorials Are Now Available!

If you missed my Cutest Crew Mystery Craft Box, I have good news!

The written tutorials for all 6 projects are now available as a digital tutorial bundle. 🐾

This Mystery Craft Box was such a fun one to design, and these projects quickly became some of my favorites. I used the Cutest Crew Bundle to create a mix of cats, dogs, birds, fun folds, and interactive details — and every project has its own personality.

Inside the tutorial bundle, you’ll find step-by-step directions, measurements, supply lists, and photos to help you recreate each project with your own supplies.

The bundle includes:

  • Blue Bird Card
  • Dog Kickstand Card
  • Double Z-Fold Cat Card
  • Shadowbox Dog Card
  • Slide Out Bird Card
  • Z-Fold Cat Card

One of the things I especially love about this group of projects is how easy they are to personalize.

You don’t have to color the animals exactly as I did. Make them look like your own pets, use your favorite colors, or swap the dogs, cats, and birds around to create completely different versions.

There are also several fun-fold and interactive elements mixed into the bundle, so you get a nice variety of techniques instead of six cards that all feel the same.

The Double Z-Fold Cat Card even includes a spinning kitty! If you’d like to recreate that feature, I use a small bearing for the moving element. You can find the bearings I use in my Amazon Store here:

Want to make the projects?

The Cutest Crew Tutorial Bundle is available now as a digital download.

You’ll receive the complete tutorial bundle for all 6 projects so you can create them at your own pace using supplies you already have or your own favorite colors and patterns.

No physical products are included with this tutorial purchase.

If you make any of the projects, I would love to see what you create! Feel free to tag Craft With Cheryl on social media or send me a picture.

Happy Crafting!

3 Ways to Create with Fern & Flora: Embossing, a Fun Fold & Torn Paper Layers

The Fern & Flora Bundle has such a pretty botanical feel, but I didn’t want all three cards in this class to look alike. So I challenged myself to use the products three completely different ways.

And I think we accomplished that! 🌿

In this class, we created one colorful card using the embossing folder, an easy Designer Series Paper fun fold, and one very layered blue botanical card with torn cardstock and lots of die-cut foliage.

You can watch the complete class below and craft along with me.

Card 1 – Coloring the Debossed Side

I’ve shown different ways to add ink to embossing folders before, but this time I changed things up.

After embossing the cardstock, I worked on the debossed side — the side where the design dips into the paper — and colored those recessed areas with Stampin’ Blends.

I didn’t worry about being perfectly neat because Secret Sea went over the background afterward and helped cover those little stray marks.

That’s always one of my favorite things about crafting: finding another way to use something we already have!

Card 2 – An Easy DSP Fun Fold

Card 2 started with a regular 4-1/4" x 11" card base, but I cut away 2-3/4" from the front.

That simple cut creates a fun fold with the inside Designer Series Paper showing beside the embossed front panel.

During the live class, everyone even helped me decide whether the focal piece should be portrait or landscape. Landscape won because we could see more of that pretty embossing.

Sometimes the simplest fun folds are the ones I use the most because they’re easy to recreate with completely different papers.

Card 3 – Torn Two-Tone Cardstock Layers

This card went in a completely different direction.

I used a sneak peek of the new Whispering Woods Designer Series Paper along with Pool Party and Pretty Peacock two-tone cardstock. By tearing the cardstock in opposite directions, I could expose the white core while also showing both sides of the two-tone paper.

Then came the fun part — layering lots of Fern & Flora die-cut foliage in cardstock and vellum.

One little tip when working with vellum: place your adhesive where it will eventually be hidden underneath another layer. Adhesive loves to announce itself through vellum. 😉

A white bow and a few gems finished the card.

This may just be my favorite of the three!

Which One Is Your Favorite?

Three cards. One product collection. Three very different looks.

That’s one of the reasons I enjoy experimenting instead of always making the first idea that comes to mind.

Which would you make first — Card 1, Card 2, or Card 3?

Supplies used can be found here: Fern & Flora Supplies

Sunflower Fun Fold Card – Mystery Stamping #125

Sunflower Fun Fold Card – Mystery Stamping #125

Mystery Stamping #125 turned into a gorgeous sunflower fun fold—and I think this one may need to go on my favorites list! 🌻

I love a card that looks a little unusual but really isn’t difficult once you see how it goes together. For this one, we cut away part of the card front and then added layers of Designer Series Paper, embossed cardstock, and a sentiment panel.

I used the new Radiant Sunflowers products for my card, giving everyone a little sneak peek at something coming in September. The sunflower paper paired beautifully with the sunflower embossing folder, so of course I had to use both!

The design itself can easily be recreated with other papers, embossing folders, and stamps you already have.

Watch the video below and I'll show you exactly how the pieces fit together.

Web of Fun: Three Easy Halloween Projects

 Hi friends!

Today I’m sharing three Halloween projects featuring the Web of Fun Bundle from Stampin’ Up! We’ll make two handmade cards and one cute treat package, with plenty of simple ideas you can use in your own seasonal crafting.

These projects are festive without being overly complicated. You can recreate them with the same products or adapt the layouts and techniques using supplies you already have.

Project 1: Diagonal Embossed Halloween Card

For the first card, I placed the cardstock diagonally inside the embossing folder. This creates a band of embossed bats across the card instead of covering the entire background.

The bold Happy Halloween greeting and little spider add plenty of personality while keeping the design easy to assemble.

Project 2: Spider Web Halloween Card

The second card features Halloween patterned paper, a vellum spider web, and a stamped spider.

I also die cut the word “happy” from foam to give it extra height and dimension. It’s an easy way to help a detailed greeting stand out against a busy background.

Project 3: Halloween Treat Package

For the final project, I decorated a clear candy bag with a handmade topper.

A stamped sentiment and a few tiny ghost and bat accents turn an ordinary bag of candy into a fun little gift. These would be perfect for party favors, classroom treats, table decorations, or surprise deliveries to friends and neighbors.
