6 Easy Halloween Cards & Treat Boxes with Spooktacular Designer Series Paper

Halloween has a way of sneaking up on me! I was getting excited about all of the new fall and Christmas products when I remembered that I still wanted to share a Halloween class.

So before October gets here, we're having a little Spooktacular Halloween crafting fun!

For this free Stampin’ Up! class, I created six easy Halloween projects using the Spooktacular Designer Series Paper — three handmade cards and three Halloween treat packages.

One of the things I really like about this paper is how much of the decorating is already done for you. The fun pumpkin, Frankenstein, Dracula and skeleton designs make it easy to create cute Halloween projects without spending hours on each one.

We started with three handmade Halloween cards.

The first is an easy Dracula Halloween card. This one is about as simple as it gets! I trimmed the printed Dracula image for the card front, added a Trick or Treat greeting and finished it with one of the little bat embellishments.

Next came my favorite — the pumpkin fun-fold Halloween card. The pumpkin design continues across the folded front panels, giving you a fun card that stands for display but is still very easy to make.

Our third card features Frankenstein. Simple Granny Apple Green and black layers let that big Frankenstein face be the star of the card.

Easy Halloween Treat Boxes & Packaging

Then we moved on to three Halloween treat projects.

The pumpkin gable treat box started as a white box. I added Pumpkin Pie color and pieces of the Spooktacular paper to turn it into one big jack-o'-lantern.

These boxes are roomy enough for several different treats and would be fun for grandchildren, teachers, nursing home residents, party favors or Halloween surprises.

For the Frankenstein treat box, I used one 6" x 6" Frankenstein sheet for the lid and created a slightly smaller cardstock box for the bottom.

You could add some shredded paper and candy inside, tie it up with baker's twine or leave Frank just as he is.

And finally... the skeleton made an appearance! 😂

The sour cream style Halloween treat holder is probably the quickest project in the class. Add a couple pieces of candy before closing the final end and you have an easy treat that could be made in multiples for trick-or-treaters or parties.

If you like Halloween that is more cute than scary, I think you'll have fun with these projects.

In the video, I walk you through all six projects step by step and share measurements and little tips along the way.

Which one would you make first — pumpkin, Frankenstein, Dracula or the skeleton?

Fun for Fall Card Class: Scarecrow Cards, a Tri-Fold & Shadowbox Fun Fold

Fall crafting has officially arrived in my craft room! 🍂

For this week’s free class, I pulled out the adorable Fun for Fall images and created three very different cards.

And apparently one regular card wasn’t enough, because we ended up with TWO fun folds. 😂

Card 1 — Fun for Fall Scarecrow Card

We started with the most traditional card of the evening.

I paired the scarecrow with Autumn Opulence Designer Series Paper and used the colors in the paper to choose my coloring palette.

One of the things I love about Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper is having the coordinating colors listed for us. It takes a lot of the guesswork out of choosing colors — although it did give my scarecrow some rather fancy fall overalls!

The Autumn Opulence Designer Series Paper is part of the new Online Exclusives available beginning September 1.

Card 2 — Sunflower Three-Panel Tri-Fold

Then things got much more interesting.

I used three large Everyday Arches pieces and connected them with small folded cardstock hinges.

When the card is open, all three panels create one long sunflower scene. When it’s closed, the front panel becomes the focal point.

The sunflower Designer Series Paper does a LOT of the decorating for us, and I added the scarecrow, fence, crows and other little details to bring the scene to life.

There’s also a Very Vanilla panel on the back where you can add your message.

Card 3 — Fun for Fall Shadowbox

Our final project is a shadowbox card.

This one may look complicated, but the card base does most of the work. A few score lines create the dimensional shadowbox.

Then I used an Everyday Arches Die to create the opening and built my own little cornfield inside.

Of course, we needed our scarecrow, a fence and a hay bale too!

The best part? It folds flat so you can still mail it.

In the video I’ll walk you through all three projects from beginning to end, including the coloring, hinges, shadowbox construction and all those little decorative details.

If you make one of these, I’d love to know which design you chose!

Wild Bunch Fun Fold Birthday Card | Mystery Stamping #78

Last night's Mystery Stamping was filled with creativity, laughter, and plenty of surprises as we worked through the clues together to create this fun fold birthday card.

For this week's Mystery Stamping project, I featured the adorable Wild Bunch stamp set, the June Product of the Month. The charming little cow makes the perfect focal point for a cheerful birthday card and adds just the right touch of country charm.

Why I Love This Card

This project combines several things I enjoy:

  • A fun fold that adds interest without being difficult
  • Designer paper doing much of the work
  • Simple coloring for a personalized touch
  • A design that works with many different stamp sets
The clue:

The fold creates a card that feels a little extra special while still being easy enough to recreate with supplies you already own.

About Wild Bunch

The Wild Bunch stamp set is Stampin' Up!'s featured Product of the Month for June. The playful animal images are perfect for birthdays, encouragement cards, children's cards, and everyday greetings.

Wild Bunch is Stampin' Up!'s June Product of the Month. Customers who place a qualifying order can purchase this exclusive stamp set for just $5 while supplies last.

This little cow quickly became a favorite while designing with the set. The image is easy to color and works beautifully with rustic, country-inspired papers.

Mystery Stamping #62

This is one of my favorite card fun fold recipes!  Want the measurements?  They can be found here on my Facebook Page.  They are in centimeters instead of inches.  I've tried to convert it, but these measurements work the best in my opinion.  If you have a Stampin' Up! trimmer, both measurements are found at the top.  If you don't have one, I know where you can get one. 😉
