Beautiful Day

Yes, it's a beautiful day to play with stamps!  It's getting cold and windy again here so I wouldn't call it a beautiful day outside.

I love this simple stamp set.  Recently in a class, we made this card.  We used the Beautiful Day Stamp Set (item #145915), Stampin' Blends, and Stampin' Emboss Powder in white (item # 109132).

We used the stained glass technique.  To do this, stamp the butterfly image in VersaMark on a piece of vellum. Then sprinkle white embossing powder over it and remove the excess.  Then heat set the embossing powder using a heat tool.

Once cool, turn the image over and start coloring in the spaces on the back of the paper.

Once all the spaces are colored, turn over.  Beautiful stained glass-look!

Cut the image out.  Stamp your sentiment on a piece of 4" x 5.25" cardstock.  Then run the cardstock though the big shot to dry emboss it.  On this card, I used a retired embossing folder. Then adhere the center of the butterfly to the cardstock with half of a dimensional.  You may bend the wings a little to make it more 3D.  Mount the cardstock on a 8.5"x 5.5" piece of cardstock scored at 4.25".
I hope to craft with you soon!
