Sometimes the sweetest cards are the ones that bring back happy memories. This week’s class was inspired by a certain Silly Old Bear and his friends from the Hundred Acre Wood! These cards combine soft vintage-style backgrounds, warm honey tones, woodland scenes, and playful texture for a cozy collection of handmade cards.
In this class, I shared 3 different card styles:
a simple friendship card
a detailed textured card using a honeycomb impressions plate
a fun fold card with layered details and twine accents
Each card has its own personality while still coordinating beautifully as a set.
During the class we explored:
embossing with a honeycomb impressions plate
layering patterned papers
blending soft background color
creating dimension with die cuts
simple fun fold construction
adding texture with embellishments and twine
I also shared a fun tip for using the honeycomb die to create impressed texture without cutting all the way through your cardstock!
This soft woodland scene featuring Pooh, Piglet, and Tigger makes such a sweet friendship card. I love the peaceful feel of the background paired with the sentiment:
“Old friends are the best friends.”
The soft blue and earthy tones give this card a calm storybook feel.
For this card, we used the honeycomb impressions plate technique to add subtle texture and dimension to the background. Warm honey colors paired perfectly with the Pooh image and honey pot embellishment.
The sentiment:
“It never hurts to keep looking up”
adds such an encouraging touch.
This was the interactive card from class! The layered fold, twine accent, and vintage map background make this one extra special. Pooh and Piglet walking together pair perfectly with the friendship sentiment:
“The best kind of days are the days spent together.”
This design would work beautifully for friendship, encouragement, or thinking of you cards.
